Our unique philosophy recognises the benefit of providing a healthy balance of child initiated experiences, open ended materials, and structured learning activities for our children in a safe and caring environment supported by passionate, knowledgeable and skilled educators who value families, children and the community.
Children are valued for their uniqueness and ability to learn through play...
We believe each child is unique. We respect their rights and interests, and implement a program that reflects their interests, needs and cultural backgrounds. Our curriculum is based upon the principles outlined in the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)- Belonging, Being & Becoming, and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.
We believe children are competent learners and learn by doing. We encourage their participation in decisions that affect them. Play is how children learn. Through play, the child is best able to grow, to learn, to explore the world.
We believe in teaching young children to develop lifelong respect as well as positive and proactive attitudes to our environment and a sustainable future. We believe in fostering an appreciation of the natural environment, by providing natural spaces that invite open-ended interactions, spontaneity, risk-taking, exploration, discovery and a connection and appreciation with nature.
Parents and families are valued as partners and collaborators...
We believe by working together that families, children and our educators can create a safe, warm and caring learning environment.
We believe families’ involvement and feedback into development and delivery of our program is integral to a high quality early years learning program.
We welcome our families to contribute to our program by sharing their skills, values, culture, knowledge, language and home experiences with us.
Our Educators are appreciated and valued...
We appreciate our educators and encourage them to contribute their knowledge, values and skills.
We strive to provide our educators with ongoing professional development relating to best practice for children.
We are committed to keeping our team inspired, passionate and dedicated in working together.
Our community is our precious gift...
By fostering a generous spirit in our young people, we can make a difference in their lives and the community.
We acknowledge the Turrbul People and value and respect our local Indigenous culture, past, present and future.
We strive to establish and maintain the relationships with our community, organisations, councils and local schools.
